Struggling with tubular cast on …

5/1/2010 - Done! Took forever because I would only work on it when I was in Chico.

The cables and bobbles were straightforward but I needed to look at the chart alot, not immediately intuiting if a cable was going left or right. Towards the end I got my groove on.

I also added another repeat of the pattern because I swear the pictures looks like there are 5 sections of bobbles but it is a bit too big for the head I made it for. So if the giftee wants, I’ll rip it back one section and finish it earlier (as per the pattern).

I skipped the tubular cast on and just did a regular long tail but tried to make it with extra give.

Occasionally my bobbles would like to present towards the inside of the hat but I tried to pluck them out when I blocked over a plate.

Also the purl stitches immediately to the left of the cables were very loose. Not sure how to remedy that. I tried pulling them extra tight towards the end of the project but didn’t see a noticeable difference.
