Oooo La La! I’ve had some yarn dyed just for me - it’s a tangerine pop :)

And we’re off! That turkish cast on is the business! I switched one of my needles to a 2.5mm for the cast on and then carried on with 3mm needles from the first row.

I’m not sure I ever got to grips with the ssk, swap to left needle etc. business. I seemed to be constantly missing or gaining a stitch trying… but I muddled through somehow…

Cast on 11 rather than 3 stitches when starting the handle so it’s wider and have decided to go for a short handle in a “swing it over your shoulder like a glamorous woman” kind of way. 16” stretched.

Included a pocket inside the bag and also slipped lining fabric into handle to give it more durability. Made a long thin tube of outer lining fabric and stitched it down at either end when stitching the yarn closed.
Stitched the zipper in place by hand, used a back stitch in thick tangerine top-stitching cotton. Well hidden under the icord edging.

LOVE IT!!! Have to wrangle it back from my girls who want to carry it for me… they’ll just have to work at their knitting skills so they can make one for themselves.
