Notes

I cast on 24 stitches using a turkish cast on and 2.25mm dpns - 12 for each side of the toe and with a great deal of fiddling and a sweaty brow I increased to 60 sts.

Actually, I started with a 2.5mm needle and increased to more sts and then realised it would be too big - thought I might give them away - then changed my mind because the wool was too nice and I wanted it for myself - so frogged and started again. Four times. A few more times to get the size just right, one to make my increases up the toe look nicer. The yarn is amazing - it looks as good as new despite all the ripping and re-knitting. I’m glad I’m keeping them for me.

The FKL heel is good fun. Once you get to grips with the stitches for the short rows it’s simple and enjoyable. I love the fit and it is very comfy on.

I have to say - I love knitting stripes!
Pity I didn’t time my bind off slightly better - I ventured into a new colour halfway through my bind off … grrr. But not so annoying that I will rip back and do it again - no one will see and I’ll just pretend it never happened.
