inspiration patterns:
~Crovontuli
~Pacific Rim Shawl

this is another example of my waffling. at first i wanted to make a shawl that tried to mimic the actual Shadow vessel. then i realised that i really want to use this yarn for a shawl, but i’m not sure that i’ll actually make a Shadow ship. so like my ExtermaWrap, it’s simply going to be just based on the Shadows, because it can be. i’ll be using the Crovontuli as the main pattern, and the Pacific Rim Shawl for the way the rows start and end.

yaay for more waffling. just pour some syrup on me.
the thing is, i don’t usually like to make the same pattern twice, even with different yarn. but in this case, i’ll be making the Night Flyer by Michele DuNaier shawl again… it looks very Shadow-like to me.

Night Flyer, take two - while the Shadow vessel appears to have 6 distinct sections, i’m not sure that decreasing this shawl down to 6 sections will make it as big as i like, (since i like wraps that can wrap, y’know?), so i’ve increased it up to 8 sections instead. starting with row 7, i’m also adding an extra dc on each side of the ch5 in the shell section, but the first shell will start with and the last shell will end with only 2 dcs.

Night Flyer, take 3. The mods weren’t looking quite right, so now I’m back to the original pattern as written. ::sigh:: pass me that maple syrup, would ya?

mods: only doing three of the four rows of border; and in the places where there is a ‘sc, ch3, sc’ in a ch-4 space, i’m just doing an sc in the chain-space, ch 4, and sc in the the next chain-space.
