there are two different charted filet crochet motifs can be worked horizontally if you know your length, or vertically if you don’t.
9/5/14 ~ the main body is completed, and now i’m working on the decrease rows. i have only a small ball of my first skein of yarn left.
i worked 6 motifs vertically, then will turn the wrap horizontal to make the decrease rows. the motifs are charted and the decrease rows are a written pattern. (i shall try to make a chart for these rows as well.)
9/7/14 ~ decrease rows completed. bottom edge is approx 57”, top edge approx 40”, height approx 15”.
i typed up the bulk of the pattern on 9/8/14. still need to work on a chart for the decrease rows.
9/8/14 ~ finished the border and lightly blocked it.
full disclosure: the bottom border i got from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary, Vol 4, Crochet. i modified it slightly, to fit into this pattern.
i was inspired by Amy Schilling’s Doctor Who Fair Isle charts to make my own downsized TARDIS and fiddle with ideas for decorative mesh rows as well.
