Hat & body Venetian Red + Mizzle, beard & hat decoration Åska, nose Marzipan, cat Mizzle + Åska + Venetian Red

Beard from Gnome De Plume combined with the braids as in this project.

Stuffed with grey wool battings from my stash.

Mods

• hat knit welt & i-cord in contrast colour, rest as pattern but didn’t decorate it until after I’d stuffed it,
• using lifted increases,
• body wanted a proper hat brim so picked up in last r before welt, knit 3 r before first increase, stockinet as pattern, one less garter ridge in both main and contrasting colour, used old beads to make it bottom heavy,
• beard cast on 19 st - 6 st braid + 1p + 5 st centre of beard + 1p + 6 st mirrored braid, knit r 1-7 of beard and then decreases from r 14, started braid on r 4 and then repeats of r 5-8, after end of beard alternated braid decreases and CDD until 1 st left,
• made nose 1 r smaller,
• mittens as pattern & arms 18 r,
• cat striped, body slightly shorter and tail over 4 st, tiny decoration 2 st i-cord.
