Notes

General
Lotus Persimmon

This yarn is very soft and the colour is fantastic but it’s not suited for cable work. Far too splitty.

Using Grumperina's method for cabling without a cable needle.

SKA cast-on post: #24

SFS March Challenge.

Mods

  • knitting cuff chart 3 times = 12 r,
  • to tighten up the cables I’m knitting the top st through the backloop & slipping it on the plain rounds + purling bottom st when it end up adjacent to a purl section,
  • knit leg chart 3 times = 46 r,
  • heel flap in plain stockinet 32 r, knit first and slip last st on all rows, slipstitch under heel during turn and for another 17 r, picked up 17 st + knit through the backloop on the first r,
  • knit foot chart r 1-32 once + r 9-32 three times starting toe decreases on r 17 last time (88 r total for foot),
  • toe decreased every other r until 36 st left, then every r until 8 left.

Timeline
2018-03-04: The cables look far too untidy so I unravelled and started over using mods as above.
2018-03-09: Finished first sock and started on second.
2018-03-13: Finished second sock.
