Notes

General
I love this yarn! It’s so soft and smooth and light and is a joy to knit with. And nettles taking dye differently from wool gives it a lovely silvery shine.
The pattern is very straightforward and easy.
My gauge is a little off but not enough to jump a whole size so I’m recalculating all numbers for size 3.

Mods

  • Body: Cast on 216 st. Want more of an a-line shape so I knit only 3 rows after the provisional cast-on before starting on the texture work. -- Used Chart C by mistake instead of A. -- When separating for front and back attached a new ball of yarn to the back and knitted both back and front at the same time. -- After casting off for armscye I have 28 st on each side of Chart B = total of 101st. -- Picked up from provisional cast-on and on the first knit row increased 4 st (2 in each side) and then the same on every 14th row 6 more times + decreased 2 extra st on the last round = total of 246 st left. Instead of ribbing knitted Chart C + 2 purl rows + bound off in purl.
  • Shoulders: Three-needle bindoff instead of seaming.
  • Sleeves: Used a 2.5mm needle to pick up and knit 84 st on each sleeve (56 after decreases.) -- Used Chart A instead of C (see above). -- Knitted 8 more rows after final decrease befor starting Ridge & Furrow. -- Decreased 2st on the 16th row after end of Ridge & Furrow and then every 5th row 3 more times = 48 st remaining. -- Instead of ribbing ended the sleeves in the same way as the body.
  • Neck: Did the neckline before finishing the sleeves. I find it easier to get the sleeve-lenght right if I do this. -- Used a 2.5mm needle to pick up and knit 26 st on each shoulder = total 102 st. -- K2tbl for the 3rd stitch of the i-cord instead of the suggested knit-and-pass-over.

Timeline
2016-09-12: I started on Chart C instead of Chart A yesterday. Oops! It doesn’t really matters which way the arrows point of course, but I’m glad I noticed before I reached row 16 & 17 when it does!
Separated front and back and started on Chart B.
2016-09-16: Finshed upper part & shoulders.
2016-09-17: Started on the sleeves. Trying out two-at-a-time with magic loop. Also tried two shorter circulars and magic loop on each sleeve. Went back to DPNs in the end. So much faster for me.
2016-09-23: Took a break from the sleeves and finished the neckline.
2016-09-24: Finished the sleeves.
2016-09-25: Started on the body.
2016-10-02: Only half the bind-off left!
2016-10-03: Finished!! Washed and waiting for it to dry before taking proper photos.
