Notes

General
Yarn is quite soft and nice to work with but has a slight tendency to split - particularly the white. Washing makes it bloom and soften even more.
First pattern in Danish. Not as difficult as I thought it would be.
Finally managing to graft without having to look it up. I even remembered the set up round!
Washed it in the machine on wool program. I love the finished pullover! Hopefully my nephew will too :-)

Mods

  • Using 4mm needles for the ribbing, 4.5 for the plain stockinet, and 5 for the colourwork.
  • 5cm ribbing = 12 rows.
  • Instead of adding rows between the pattern bands on the sleeves I started with 1 extra set of chart B and then used the same number of rows as on the body between the bands.
  • Put the underarm stitches on holders instead of casting off and grafted together at the end.
  • Knitted raglan st instead of purled.
  • Knitted 3 pairs of shortrows (using shadowwraps) before starting on neck ribbing: k to 2st past front raglan on first then 6st shorter on next 2.
  • Used this cast-off for the neck.

Timeline
2016-11-05: Finished the body.
2016-11-06: Started on the sleeves. Once again trying two-at-a-time, this time on two circulars.
2016-11-07: Gave up on two-at-a-time. It might possibly work for plain stockinet but with colourwork it’s just impossible. Using DPNs are so much easier for me.
2016-11-11: Finished the sleeves and started on the yoke.
2016-11-18: Finished! Just washing & drying left.
