How to make a garter tab that doesn’t “hump”: Knit proportionally fewer rows and pick up stitches both in the garter ridges and between them.

Mods

• used provisional CO for the garter tab and only knit 6 r while still picking up 5 st,
• while knitting flat slipped both first and last st on the WS rows and knit them on the RS,
• joined in the round after I’d reached 119 st and did the remaining four increase pairs at centre back at the end of this and over the following three sections,
• skipped Section Two and knit 2 extra r at the beginning of Section Three instead,
• changed to larger needles at the start of Section Three,
• changed to even larger needles at the start of Section Six,
• knit first half of Section Eight with C3 and the second with C2,
• to make the transition between stockinet and rib neater knit first r of Section Nine k1tbl k1,
• elastic BO in pattern.
