Notes

General
What kind of designer doesn’t make sure the cuff ribbing is lined up properly with the main motif?!! I’m not bothering with the actual pattern at all for these socks. Just using the chart and knitting my usual heelflap sock.

SolidSock cast-on post: #159
SFS UFO status post: #126

Using Grumperina's method for cabling without a cable needle.

Mods

  • modified the cuff ribbing to make it line up with the rest of the pattern,
  • cuff 12 rows,
  • leg r 1-32 + 1-30,
  • heel flap 32 r stockinet, knit first and slip last st on all r (prefer even numbers so decreased 1 st on first r), round heel, picked up 17 st for each gusset and knit through the backloop on the first r, decreased down to 34 st on the sole,
  • foot r 31-32 + 1-32 twice + 1-17 + 1 stockinet r while decreasing 1 st on the instep,
  • toe decreased every other r until 24 st left then every r until 8 left, cut yarn and pulled through.
