Notes

General
With this much cable work I couldn’t get 64 st over my heel. Started over with 72 and that worked for the leg but I should have decreased down to 68 for the foot - it’s a bit too large.

Using Grumperina's method for cabling without a cable needle.

This is an excellent yarn for cabling!

SFS March Challenge and was one of the winners. (Or possibly that was the other pair I finished for the challenge :-)

Mods

  • knit cuff 12 r,
  • knitting left-leaning cables on the front through the back loop to tighten them up,
  • knit leg two chart repeats = 56 r,
  • knit heel flap 32 r, knitting first and slip last st,
  • slipstitch during heel turn and for another 16 r,
  • knit foot three chart repeats = 84 r,
  • toe decreased every other r until 36 st left then every r until 8 left, continued twisted rib on toe.
