2/13 - DONE! I do need to block it because the bottom cuff is curling. I love this sweater and it fits great …. just the right amount of ease throughout (top is ever-so-slightly too big). This pattern is the best-written pattern I’ve encountered thus far … extremely accurate and user-friendly. I will definitely make another one of these!
2/9 - sleeve done, and picked up for the 2nd.
2/6 - picked up sts for sleeves … also picked up extra sts at each end of underarm and knit together w/ the end sts on the holder, to close up holes. This worked better on one end than the other. :(
LYS suggested making a shank when sewing on the buttons. When sewing in/out of the button holes, put a toothpick on it first, so the thread goes over the toothpick. Then, when finished sewing, before cutting thread, take toothpick out, pull button up and wrap the thread around, underneath the button) which will give it a “shank” and raise the button up slightly so that it’s easier to use and won’t be so tight against the button band.
2/3 - Just joined in the round for the body. (So far used 2 balls of each color.) Got a little confused about that last row before joining, so I have 1 extra row of that color. :( Hopefully it won’t be too obvious.
Made 1 extra increase in the arms as well just to be sure there is some ease through the bicep. Sleeves tend to run a bit snug on me.
Otherwise I love this pattern. It looks amazing! And I found the perfect little turtle buttons to use for this.
I wish the pattern would have said which color to start with re: the picture … I started with gray, but with the way my color stripes are working out I probably should have started with my teal color, so that I could do the buttonband in gray. But now I’ll probably do it in teal.
1/29 - Cast on!
