Notes

11/19 - I finished the knitting on the hat long ago, but only this evening did I weave in the ends and will wash and dry the hat tomorrow so it will match the mitts.

10/3 evening - both mitts are done. Cute and soft!

10/3 LOL - I’ve adapted the pattern so much it isn’t going to bear much resemblance to the original. I left out the alternating ribs between the cables on the first mitt I did, and so for coordination, I guess I’ll leave them out on the hat, too, when I get there.

10/2 Testing the claim by the Knitmore Girls that 100% cashmere is washable and dryable in the washer. We’ll start with the mitts and try washing them first. If that works, on to a hat and if enough yarn, socks.

I am going to adapt the pattern so the mitts have cables all around like the hat.

1-4-2-4-2-4-1 = 18 st X2 = 36
Cast on 32, 2x2 rib, increase 4 stitches in first round after rib, simultaneously setting up 4x2.

C2F every 8 rows. at ~3.5 inches, do a star decrease over 6 divisions.

10/22/10 - I tested the wash - as you can see from the picture, no shrinkage, though the yarn softens a bit and the halo blooms. I’ll wash the rest of the set so they will all look alike.
