I pulled out some stash yarn and swatched for a little shell, Rowan’s Tune. The yarn is a real mish-mash of cottons that I picked up for a song in Germany - one skein of this, two of that. I think the line of brick running through the icy cool blues and greens makes an interesting colorway and adds strong visual rhythm, hence the name of this project - Rhythm and Blues.

I intend to do a Fibonacci sequence, 1-1-2-3-5, holding the brick red in the first 1 position and the variegated blue/teal in the final 5 position (I have more of that than the other yarns) and rotate the other 3 through the 1-2-3 positions.

6/7/11 - Pulled this one out again. Maybe this will be the summer it is finished. The good news is that having finished the front and back and seaming them up, it fits well. The bad news is it is too short and the edge flips up, so I’ve removed the bottom edge, picked up stitches, and am knitting it longer. I also am considering cap sleeves.

9/5/11 I think I have finished knitting. the cap sleeves were a bust - the straps were too narrow to add sleeves. Ended up with I-cord around neck and armholes, ribbing at bottom. The ribbing keeps flipping up - I hope this tames with blocking. Else it will just be worn tucked in!
