8/22/12 I ordered Elsebeth Lavold from Webs today. The pattern is purchased and printed, the needles at the ready. Now I just need to knit like the wind when the yarn arrives. Somehow it escaped me how close the wedding is!!!

8/31/12 Gauge swatch completed last night. Cast on and got started this morning while watching the hens from the front porch. The pattern could be more clear with regard to where the pattern stitch starts. It is clear in the row directions, however a comment before the pattern actually starts that states that pattern stitch starts on the back and as soon as there are enough front stitches it commences on the front with the sleeves completed in stockinette throughout would have made things a lot more understandable from the beginning. Also the pattern notes that the first and last stitch are always work in stockinette and not referred to through the pattern. Then when you reach the point where the pattern stitch starts on the fronts, the row instructions actually include that first stitch. This is contradictory and could be confusing if you didn’t realize what was happening.
