Lordy what a lot of i-cord. I was stitching it down right up to the very last minute, but the auction purchaser was gratifyingly pleased with it. Next time (if I live that long) I must find a way to make the cleavage between the hemispheres more clearly delineated. Still, for a first effort done with scrap yarn, I am pleased.
I’ve seen several brain hats around Ravelry, but no actual pattern so I unvented my own underlying hat pattern. I believe the yarns are all wool, but these are inherited from a friend’s estate so I don’t really know too much about them. The i-cord yarn, a sort of ghastly grayish heathery peach color, was going to be awful in almost anything else, but it’s perfect for braaaaaaiiiin. After a long hibernation I’m finally sewing down all that endless i-cord. I sure hope there’s enough because I don’t have any more of that yarn. My plan at the moment is to find a nice rainbow yarn for more i-cord if I run out -- that will be the brain on drugs….
