measurements:
neckline: ~ 150 cm / ~ 59.0 inches
sidelength: ~ 110 cm / ~ 43.3 inches
height: ~ 62 cm / ~ 24.4 inches

construction:

  • following the construction of YouKnits Example Triangle Shawl 2 knitted from the center of the neckline and made from two triangles side-by-side
  • at the neck side of the shawl a roll brim; the brim curls and gives a softer edge; I didn’t sew it on; the roll brim is made with 4 knit (edge) stitches on either side of the row, the stitches are cast-on provisionally and later grafted invisibly with a mattress stitch
  • in the center between the two triangles I knitted 3 knit stitches - that way there is the same number of stitches between the yarn over lines as in the YouKnits patterns
  • I used the triangle YouKnits from the YouKnits lace basic set

notes:
* provisional cast-on:
4 roll brim sts (= edge sts) + 3 pattern divider sts + 4 roll brim sts (= edge sts) = 11 sts

* knitting:
I knitted:
roll brim (= edge sts) + pattern YouKnit 000a #01 + 3 pattern divider sts + pattern YouKnit 000a #01 + roll brim (= edge sts)
after pattern YouKnit 000a #01 I grafted the provisional cast-ons invisibly with a mattress stitch

continue knitting:

It took me about 11 hours to knit this shawl
- and now I love it, too :)
