Magic loop 2 at a time. Modified for the boy’s 9.5”ers (around, he wears a size 11.5 running shoe--58 st total).

So…the pattern calls for DK weight. Weird. I’ve got fingering. We’ll make it work.

This yarn isn’t very pretty, but it’s interesting. I suppose the same could be said of a serial killer’s innermost thoughts….It was a bitch to wind, too! No matter what I did, even after untangling it, it just did not want to be in a nice little ball. Now I’ve got it balled up and ready to go!

The yarn is getting prettier knit up. :) Magic loop is kind of a winner! If I were doing cuff-down it probably wouldn’t have worked. Jus’ sayin’. Experience. Here are the mods I’ve used:

-29sts on each needle
-after toe increases the pattern on the instep is K7, (P1, K1) 8 times, K6

If I did another pair (or have to rip this one out), I would either cast on a few more stitches or go straight to the increases. They’re a little oddly pointy.

John has dubbed these his “Halo” socks. Fitting, as his Dark Passenger definitely comes out when he is slaying others on Halo.
