I keep thinking these are fingerless mitts for some reason, so every time I see the picture on the pattern I’m shocked. they are going to be cute. I did the hat on a circular and the fair isle was perfect. Since I’m doing these on dpns, I’m working them inside out and loosely.

These things are causing me much grief. I keep messing up half the chart. I also learned more about fair isle knitting halfway in, adjusted the way I was doing it, and now it’s obvious where I switched (I think, anyway). Also, since I can’t keep the hat and don’t know who to give the hat and mitten set to, I’m not sure if I should fit the mittens to my hands, knit as written, or just let it be until I know who will get them. Finally, they are fingerless mitts, but also mittens and it is important to read the pattern and follow the directions for the ones you want! Ack!
