I thought I didn’t have enough of the TS so got the BSA. Did the garter in TS, then BSA, TS, BSA, TS times 3 (b/c then I realized that I have ALOT of the TS yarn), the, BS, TSA, BS ending with the TS again at the garter ridge.

Thing is, the yarn was quite splitty - this may be due to the fact that I didn’t go down a needle size. My gauge was a bit looser than normal. Still, the colors of the yarn worked great together but the problem was the weaving in of the ends! The pattern ends in a yo on most rows, so I couldn’t carry the yarn up. Hence the approx 20 ends.

I was cursing at it in the staff room at the college where I teach English, and my coworker Sarah (who I admire greatly and this cowl is a gift for as she is one of the few non-knitters in my life that truly appreciate what I do) quipped, “Weaving is like proofreading. You have to go over it at the end and make sure its perfect right?”

I sat there for a minute and started laughing because it was absurd, yet so true. Here’s to you, Sarah. I shall always call weaving in ends “proofreading.”
