12/6/09: Crochet patterns and I do not get along. I NEVER end up with the right amount of stitches at the end of the row. This pattern was no different. After chaining for the medium size, I quickly discovered that the neckline was way too small for an adult. Because of this discovery, I chained for the biggest size. I’m past splitting for the sleeves, but I’ve been fudging the whole way with regard to the armholes. Nothing is lining up, and it is very frustrating. It’ll be interesting to see how the sleeves go…if I have enough yarn to make sleeves.

12/8/09: I’m sad to report that it doesn’t look as though I’ll have enough yarn to make the sleeves. My worst fear when I begin a project is that I won’t have enough yarn to complete it. Because of this, I always overbuy. I overbought by about 200 yds for this project, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be. I thought the extra 200 yds would make up for my tight crocheting. Major fail. I suppose it looks alright with cap sleeves, though.

12/11/09: If all goes well, tonight I should be able to finish the body of the cardigan. I’ve only got 4 or so rows to go. Once the length is completed, I’m going to add the button bands. Then, if I have anything left over (fingers crossed), I’ll add to the sleeves.

12/11/09: 9:17 pm I finished the body of the cardigan. I actually have enough yarn left over to make sleeves, so I started one of them. I stopped 1 and a half rows in because I got bored. I put the cardigan away for tonight. I didn’t want to forgo the sleeves out of laziness.

12/18/09: 5:15 pm First sleeve is finished. I am now working on the second one. Hopefully I’ll be able to stay interested tonight. I really want to finish this.
