Notes

So! All finished after MANY misfires, false starts, and completely giving up at least three times.

The trick was to have the right needles to make the nupps. With my Addis, the nupps ended up looking like cocoons… NOT good. After a lot of experimentation, I ended up using bamboo straight #4 needles, which I sharpened with an emery file. THAT WORKED!!! Finally.

Now, I probably won’t use a mohair for this pattern again. It’s REALLY easy to pick up extra stitched that aren’t really there, and it’s really hard to pull out stitches too. Maybe cashmere next time!

All in all, a fun knit, if a bit trying. Also, my cat ended up running around wearing a plastic grocery bag like a skirt for the better part of a day, which she chewed through to get at the yarn… good times, good times.

My idea here is to carry the cream Kid Silk along with the white Kid Seta, since this pattern calls for a slightly heavier yarn. But it’s a scarf, so whateves, right? My dad told me to make this in blue or purple (“those are your mother’s colors”), but I think a more traditional off white is more apropos.

Off we go!
