I made this twice in preparation for a September wedding we were to attend. Since the summer had been so hot, I knit it in linen first, which is the pink one.

The linen didn’t feel dressy enough for a wedding, so I knitted it again in a silk blend. The body of the pink shawl is in stockinette stitch, switched to garter stitch for the silk one. I prefer the way the garter stitch body drapes.

The linen version is in pink. The silk version is the wine color.

Now I’m gearing up to knit another one as a prayer shawl for a friend in bright red bamboo yarn.
