Optimus Prime is a fictional character from the Transformers franchise. He is the main protagonist and leader of the “heroic” faction (primarily the Autobots) in most of the various Transformers continuities. After his ship crashed on Earth, he remained unconscious for millions of years, then an earthquake on Tuesday, May 8, 1984, awoke the ship’s repair system, which then repaired him and adapted him to have the ability to transform to an Earth vehicle. He is the leader of the Autobots, a faction of heroic Transformers from the planet Cybertron who wage their battles to destroy the evil forces of the Decepticons. Optimus Prime is depicted as a heroic, brave and compassionate character who puts all his talent to use to improve the universe around him. Optimus has a strong sense of justice and righteousness, and has dedicated himself to the protection of all life, particularly the inhabitants of Earth; he will battle his foes with unyielding resolve.
From Wikipedia

This is a redesigned version of Optimus Prime. It's been structurally reinforced and is much sturdier than the original version. However it's still made with just yarn and stuffing! No plastic canvas or wires or anything similar were used. It's still every bit as huggable as the original, and as you can see from one of the full shots it stands at just over 2 feet tall! Some other design tweaks were done also, such as changing the hands a bit. The pictures had to be taken outside in front of the garage because it was too big to do so with the usual set up. We're very happy with how it came out.
