Pattern rating as it is written: It really isn’t difficult, but the pattern is poorly written or translated. If you can get your hands on a re-written cheat sheet, you’re in for smooth sailing; otherwise, be prepared to flounder around until you get a couple of feathers worked.
cpa week 13 challenge because I’ve had the jojoland stashed forevah
04/18: made the page, caked, gathered tips, printed, photo; jojoland skein #1, 54g; cascade skein #1, 101g.
no-yakkity-vid: weave in as you knit
Feather 1 = ~14g
04/19: So. Found out last night after I finished the first feather that my pattern stopped right there. WTH. Went back, downloaded over again, and got 6 more pages. Went to the KAL, got squared away. First brown wedge used ~22g. Started second feather. Might need to buy another skein Cascade.
04/20: second feather finished! ~14g.
04/21: third feather ~14g
04/22: About 2/3 through 4th feather, about 3 yds left of skein#1. Other four skeins are all 50g. I’m not going to get 22 feathers. #4 finished ~14g
04/23: background yarn, through 4 feathers ~81g. half of feather #5.
04/24: feather #5, ~14g; second Cascade skein 102g
04/25: acquired 4th skein cascade; feather #6 ~14g
04/26: feather 7 ~14g, nearly finished second jojoland
04/27: wedge, begin feather 8 with 6g of second jojoland
04/28: feather 8 ~15g and background wedge
04/29: feather 9 ~13g
05/03: not weighing anymore, feathers established at ~14g. through 11 feathers, have used 3 balls jojoland and 2 skeins of 220; third Cascade skein 100g.
05/04: 11.5 feathers, beginning to show that characteristic nike ‘swoosh’ curvature. Mats set at 4ftx4ft. And it’s getting very unwieldy to flipflop around for knitting back :(
05/10: Two new pics of 14 feathers up top. Second one is more true to color. Measures 58” from first feathertip to the 14th one; one ball of jojoland remaining, looks like 18 feathers will be the limit.
05/12: 16 feathers; 4th Cascade 103g
05/21: 18 feathers. 1g jojoland left; 65g Cascade left (maybe - might single crochet the neck edge)
06/05: Blocked, photo’d and all. Needs final weight (>1.25 pounds) and measures.
