Starting to alter because I obviously don’t have paws to knit for like the pattern calls for.

Casted on 40 stitches instead of 45 because I love my mitts to wear tight.
Knitting on size 4 dpns and moved the palm to needles 1 + 4.
I also had to scale the leaf pattern to make it fit in on the back of the hand coz 48 sts (24 on each side) are almost more than enough for my hand.
I’ve started the thumb in the third round of the pattern around the 4th st for the right hand and the 8th st for the left hand (which ist a twisted st from the cuff) and put the 17 sts for the thumb on hold while casting on 3 new sts.
For the fingers I separated the sts:
7 - - 5 - - 5 - - 7
2/2 2/2 2/2 (these I added on each finger)
7 - - 5 - - 5 - - 7
Knitted for each finger 2 rounds in stocking st and 8 rds in 1/1 ribbing.
For the thumb I picked up the 17 hibernating sts and 3 more. Decreased in rd 1 2 sts and in rd 3 4 more sts starting to rib in rd 4 for 6 rds.
