Notes

What can I say? My husband really likes Peanuts.

I’m knitting the front and back at the same time (flat) on a circular needle. My husband charted the zig-zag himself and I knitted it in using intarsia. I’ll knit the sleeves (long) in the round and then join the whole thing up on a circular once I reach the armpits. It’ll have a collar too, just like in the comics.

Update: I’ve finished the sleeves and the whole thing is now joined up on one circular! I’m zooming up the raglan decreases right now. Since the sweater has an open collar, I’ve just casted off for that and I’m now going back-and-forth towards the collar.

Finally: It’s finished! Rather than knit the collar separately and sew it on (as in the pattern), instead I picked up stitches around the neck and knitted it on. As you can see, this jumper was a critical element in our Halloween costume for 2008. (I also sewed my Lucy dress.) The Cotton Fleece really was great to work with. My husband said it was nice and comfortable to wear for the party, and he didn’t get too hot in it. If you’d like the chart for the zig-zag motif, you can grab the PDF here.
