Notes

I didn’t make any significant modifications. I used the double stranded cast-on as instructed. Due to my perennially tight tension, I probably ended up knitting more repeats than most people. When it came to the toe, I was worried about running short of wool so I did the decreases every other round til there were 40 stitches left and then started doing them every round. (The socks fit perfectly.) The toes were grafted using Kitchener stitch.

The wool was beautiful to knit with. I’m slightly annoyed by the pooling but it doesn’t detract from the pattern. The colour is very much a “burnt orange.”

I have to admit that the stitch pattern annoyed me. I couldn’t memorise it, and twice I started up at the wrong point and had to frog back. It just felt like it was taking FOREVER to knit up with all those little twists!
