Notes

My main project for the 2010 Sydney Royal Easter Show has begun!

02/01/10: The front and the back are both finished. I lengthened them by an extra repeat (so 22 rows). The neck shaping slightly annoyed me, in that it eats into the braid on either side and there’s no way of decreasing so that the braids remain symmetrical. I’ve been spit-felting all the ends together as I go, so I’ve only got the cast-on and cast-off tails to weave in. Now to start the sleeves!

07/03/10: Knitting and blocking are complete. Now it’s time for sewing up!

20/03/10: And she’s done! It took me three tries to get the collar right, and that’s just because I didn’t read the pattern properly and made it a couple inches too long. (You need it to actually be SHORTER than the circumference of the opening so it lays flat inside rather than standing up at 90 degrees.) I’m taking her to the Easter Show competition today…
