Notes

While I’m happy with the way these turned out, I think the Toe-Up pattern could be written a little better. For instance, it doesn’t give you any indication where to start your increases for the heel gusset beyond “I wear this size shoe and I start mine here.” I had to guess and I ended up reknitting this section about three times to get the foot the correct length. (For the record, I wear a size 9.5 women’s shoe and I ended up starting my guesset at the 5” mark.) The reverse turned heel looks and fits really nicely though.

All in all, I’m glad I knitted these, if only to get it out of my system. The Jaywalker isn’t a very elastic pattern, and the transition points from the zig-zag to plain stockinette (like at the toe and heel) look a little sloppy and baggy. Also, I quickly got bored with the two row repeat. The pattern really suited the self-striping Vesper sock yarn though!
