Notes

My Christmas present from Chris and Luke

Knitting in the round. I love this silk, it feels good when being knitted and has great stitch definition for the lace and cabled pattern.

4/11/08: recommencing this top as part of the OTF KAL.

I managed about 1 repeat of the pattern when I restarted this for the KAL.

22/1/09 I’m determined to finish it asap. I need new tops. I must finish it. Just need to get my mohair bolero out of the way first.

10/3/09 the bolero is finished so this one is next.
22/3 cast off for the armholes. From here on it is back and forth rather than in the round knitting.

3/4: front finished. Back up to shoulder blades.

Measurements before washing:

Circumference at
hip - 34”
waist - 31”
bust - 32”

length
to armhole - 12.5”
to shoulder - 19.5”

After washing and laying out to dry
Circumference at
hip - 38”
waist - 32”
bust - 36”

length
to armhole - 13.5”
to shoulder - 21”

Fits perfectly. Not sure what problems others were having with sizing the before wash sizing was spot on for the specified tension. I made the small size knowing that silk grows a lot.

January 2013.

The top still looks great. Very little pilling.

March 2018.

This top ended up with a pink stain on it so I dyed it using iDye in pink. It now has a new lease of life.
