Love this design! Knit for my daughter for Mother’s Day,2013…finished it only 2+ months late…

I used the Svale held double--really love this yarn!

There wasn’t enough yarn to make the medium size, so I dropped the first and last stitch of the stockinette section too, to give a little more length plus more stretch to the edges=if you do this, be careful! the stitches will rundown into the medallion, you have to be careful to stop dropping the stitches down before it gets to the medallion and fastening that stitch off. Next time I will fasten the yarn off when I finish the medallion, and reattach the yarn for picking up stitches--just in case I want to drop the edge stockinette stitch again.

After dropping the stitches, instead of purling a row and binding off then sewing together, I picked up 52 stitches along the second side of the centre cable medallion then placed purl-side to purl-side and grafted them together using Kitchener stitch. I always forget how to start Kitchener stitch and always go back to the great tutorial on Knitty!
