Fab fab fab. You can’t beat a good cable, I reckon. And even more so when it’s charted. Hooray for charts!

This is a really nice pattern: design aside, it’s well written with lots of variation included for different yarn weights. As for the design, it’s great. The cabled branches are pleasingly masculine, with a strong and simple form that would make for a good introductory project for cable-knitting virgins.

The sizing seems spot on but, as always, I used a slightly smaller needle size to counter my loose tension. And because this is being gifted to a “tween” boy whose head circumference is a mystery to me, I hedged my bets and made a child size with teen length.
