Cast on following an intense craving for a slouchy beanie to snuggle into while I pack up all my possessions and move house. I like it a lot. Took me a week to get around to blocking it because I was so reluctant to remove it from my head.

Despite my desire for slouch I knitted the brim full of nerves it would be too big. It’s not if you’re not a hat blocker. If you are… I recommend dropping down a needle size. Or casting on fewer stitches.

For the same reason I only knit two pattern repeats before the crown decreases. Pre-blocking I thought I should have stuck to the pattern to get the right degree of drape. As it turns out, two repeats is lovely and slouchy and exactly right for my noggin.

And and and… The colour is to die for. Yet more Vintage Purls beauteousness.

Pattern notes: love the design; the lace pattern is bold and cool. It’s great to have the option to wear the hat both ways (for the record, they’re both good, but I prefer the ‘reverse’).
