Notes

There’s a beautiful tidal rhythm to these simple lace ripples that gradually compact and become densely layered stripes of garter. It really is like sea meeting rock.

The picot edge may well be my favourite bit - there’s something about the contrast between fancy stitch and sturdy yarn that feels so right.

An immensely satisfying start to the shawl club (despite discovering that alpaca makes me itch like a bastard. Other than that, I love this yarn - I think it calls out to some stony grey Hebridean bit written into my genetic code).

Mods: Just the one. Didn’t do a tension square but dropped a needle size anyway cos I know my knitting is ‘relaxed’.
