Notes

10.07.13 I have finally reached that mental stage in my crocheting where I’m like, “Sure, I can do that.” So here I go. On the 4th round with no problem. Yeah, I got this.

10.13.13 I have been so motivated to crochet. I got this done in 5 days. I read on the forums that you can stiffen crochet with Epson salts, so I am going to try that. I still need to weave in the ends and stiffen this puppy, but the crochet part is done.

10.14.13 I read on the forums that Epson salt would stiffen doilies. I boiled water and added Epson salt until the water wouldn’t take anymore. I soaked the doily in the Epson salt solution and blocked it. It’s drying now. I’ll report on the effectiveness.

10.15.13 Blocking with the concentrated Epson salt solution was a HUGE success. Warning though, I did have to take a shower immediately afterwards because it was making my skin start to burn. O_O According to what I read on the forums, this solution was suppose to leave little crystals on the doily if it wasn’t white. Well, this thing was very saturated, but there were no crystals. It’s definitely stiff and sorta…crunchy, but no visible crystals.
