Looks big on that mannequin, but fits El’s giant noggin perfectly as a beanie, with just a little ease.

Design mods: Used same dark background for ribbing to increase/concentrate the luminous effect in design center. Used 3 graded rust/orange colors from stash for contrast. Did not follow through on design to crown--felt it was too decorative for a manly hat.

Mods for very large head: increased repeats around, added a zig-zag color to make 4 for length, added a line to each zig-zag color to increase thickness of each color for scale.

This is my first close-to-fair-isle hat. Enjoyed it.

Color progressions:
Browns: Tarantella, Chipmunk, Kitten, Meringue.
Orange: Sierra, Copper, Glazed Carrot
