Mods for fingering beret: CO 144 US3, switch to US1.5 and knit twisted 1X1 rib 1.25”, inc to 182 st (m1 every 4 st +2), making 13 repeats of 14 st. US3 knit 3 repeats and follow decreases per pattern. Block over plate.

Love this pattern. The way the double twists pull the adjacent columns wide is clever and interesting to knit and look at. Marie loves it.

The pictures don’t show the sparkle very well. See the close up for an idea. It’s quite subtle, but looks glorious in sunlight. Yarn color is neutral, medium-light gray, closest to the first picture. Very soft and easy to knit with.
