Got about halfway into Pome before I realized the yarn had too much color texture to carry the details of this exquisite cable pattern. Didn’t show up so much in the swatch. Frogged back to ribbing and just carried the C2B C2F ribbing cables up. Immediate relief--looks so much better without the textures fighting each other. Got another yarn with less color texture to redo Pome.
This is a gorgeous pattern with really beautiful detailing. El picked it out himself and wanted this brand of yarn, but just didn’t work.
Mods: Added an extra 36 stitch panel to fit Elliott’s 24” head and scaled down the needle size and yarn weight. Came out a perfect beanie for him and a slouch for Katie, who’s modeling it here.
Very complex yarn colorway. Comes off as a cross between gold and brown with some gray. Pooled a bit, esp in ribbing. Pictures fairly true to color. Reminds me of sandstone layers.
