A neutral cardigan with just enough color to make it go with the rest of my wardrobe.
Now that I have it, I realize that I’ve been trying to make this sweater since the Owl Cardi of 2011: Simple yet fun, structured yet tailored, dresses up tshirts and dresses down more fancy things. Fits like a dream, I couldn’t be happier.

Unpleasantly surprised by the difference in row gauge between the color pattern and the stockinette. I mean, I guess I should’ve seen that coming, but still.
I put this on ice while we moved house, but I honestly think I might be better off pulling it back and knitting something entirely different with it. And it was such a good plan…

New plan: rip back to collar (in all honesty, rip back some of that collar too). Knit back and fronts in parts, with light grey as CC on fronts and black as CC on back. Set in sleeves (in plain grey, or with yellow as CC).
Alternative plan: Rip back all. Knit back, sleeve caps and underarm sts in plain stst. Pick up and knit fronts sideways. Pick up and knit collar.
Alternative plan 2: Rip back all, make something completely different.

Now that I’m mostly done with the Sheep sweater, I turned this out of the stash cabinet and… yeah, no. It was a nice plan, but sadly not one that did well in reality. New plan: stripes!
