This was fun to knit. You can take this pattern in so many different directions.

It was a little too wide in the back so I brought it in with wonderful Skif buttons. The sleeves also needed to be made much shorter so I just adjusted the length after knitting by cutting with scissors, picking up and binding off.

Although it is finished I may still take the sleeves back another inch or so. I don’t like a sleeve too long.

The seams are all sewn on the machine which was so quick. I actually used a wool thread on my machine.

I may also make this a little longer with a crochet edge…something that gives a Japanese look to it. I’m still considering this. I’ll wear it for awhile and then make a decision.

I have not worn this as much as I thought as it was decidedly to short for the width of it…the balance just wasn’t right. And the sleeves were still too long. So time to do a re-knit! Again, I cut the sleeves, took two more inches off (!), picked up, and bound off…perfect. Now the bottom band…took it off and re-knit it adding two inches to the length. I seamed it on the machine and it is now perfect! I love it, it is in proportion to itself (and me!).
It will now be ready for the Autumn and Winter, although with this strange Spring I might find some days to wear it sooner then that!
