This was one of those projects for me, if I did not take time to read it, it was a huge mess. If it was not the right yarn, it would be another mess. I had this pattern when it first came out last year in June 2014. I was in summer school for Algebra math, and I had just had 2 hand surgies and I was home, for just one week and went back to class. I thought how lovely this pattern was.
Now surprisely I started making this shawl on 3 April 2015, at the DMV getting a renewal on my drivers license before it expired on my birthday. Which Happy Belated birthday to me, yesterday was my birthday.
The pattern is not differcult at all, I did the very beging diferrent.
1) My I-cord had live stitches so I could avoid the very 1st step of picking up stitch on the I cord.
2) You will become a fan of stitch markers. On your way back when it tell you what your next stitches are away and repeat. Placing the stitch markers when you are on your way back to the begining, really cuts down on the time of cutting, especially when you past stitch #15, and you have 25 live stitches on your needle. Here is a link to my website how to make stitch markers.
3) It is not a complicated knit.
4) No I was not sad to have it off my circular, I have one more shawl project I would like to make before next Tuesday, before Spring/Easter break is over with.
5) Row 28 I was done. It is huge, and you can see the measurements below. it wraps around 2 time.
I used worsted weight yarn. I really wanted to make it large and warm so I can wear it in class during summer school. During the summer, in the classes the air conditioner feel as if the are at its highest, making it frigid. I should have 4 more semester for my BS in computer science. I am loving every moment.
Length: 120 inches
Depth: 31 (shallow part.)
yarn weight used: 10oz
yards: 840
This is a huge wrap that I will gladly enjoy my summer classes this semester. I did enjoy this pattern.
