Notes

10 jan: finished, washed. Just waiting for it to dry and then I should have modeled shots.

4 jan: it’s 12” now. Just joined the fifth ball of yarn. Looks like I’m getting about 3” per ball of yarn (not much!). Pattern says to work armscye (is it an armscye when there’s not going to be a sleeve inserted?) starting at 14” but I might give it to 15” to lengthen the body a bit -- since I acquired two more balls (in a different dye lot). I am very much looking forward to finishing this! Hopefully this month.

30 nov: my thanksgiving weekend project… between wii time and thanksgiving and catching up on sleep, I didn’t make too much progress, but it is 6” now. ;)

5 nov: it’s vestvember… I am going to activate this and hibernate black cardi. I still may not work on this since I am pretty focused on Fugl.

18 oct: on hold until I finish black cardi. :)

24 jul: sort of on hold while it is hot in seattle. I did finish the hem ribbing and now I am contemplating whether to keep 0,2 or 4 st at either side in st st as I work the waist dec/inc.

2 jul: ha! so first I CO earlier this week and accidentally worked 1x1 rib instead of 2x2. Then tonight I started knitting in the reverse direction … SHEESH!

loose measurement over top of bra & shirt: 46” … 36.5-37” ish above/below bust. This is why buying clothes is a pain in the butt.

swatch0: 5-3/4” over 30st… 5.2spi. seems to be 5spi in the pattern stitch.

also note: I screwed up the first repeat messing with the LT/RT, so the first 6 rows after the ribbing do not look right. :)

technically all I’ve done so far is swatch, but I wanted to get some notes down.

  • Mom made this and the shoulders are a little wide on her. I anticipate I will have the same problem. Work additional decreases for shoulders.
  • US5 needles makes an okay fabric.
  • pattern is not popping very much due to color. do I care?
  • I am going to knit this in the round
  • the gauge is not going to match the pattern gauge but I am not going down another needle size. I will likely follow a smaller size instruction to get the size I want based on gauge (will measure after swatch is dry).
  • I am using LT and RT instead of cabling.

LT worked: slip each st separately, then move back to left needle. k tbl on second stitch, leave on needle, then k2tog tbl through both sitches.

RT worked: k2tog, leave st on needle. k through first stitch, drop both stitches.

I am happy with how these two mirror one another.
