Notes

Most every tea cozy I find is for the traditional tea pot and split so the spout and handle can handle a tea cozy just slipping over the top and fastening securely. My dear friend gave me a tea pot for Christmas, but it is not a traditional western tea pot, but the handle is on top, and is an Asian tea pot. So I got busy designing one that will fit snuggly and will work with the top handle. It is made up from scraps of yarn and will be quite festive and fun when it is complete. I am keeping track of the pattern in case it is a hit, so I can post the pattern later on my blog.

Edit: I finished this today (1/29/2013). It fits nicely and is easy to remove and put on the pot. (I already gave it a trial run). I just need to make another one following the pattern to check for errors or adjustments needed, but I really like how it turned out. The colors are not really anything planned. It was one of those things where I just grabbed “whatever” to make from scraps while developing a pattern for it. I hope to have a pattern up at some point. For now this will make do!

I sewed all the flowers on it while the foundation was on the pot itself. This helped with the placement of the flowers and leaves. I tacked the flowers in several places besides just using the sewn on button to hold them in place. This is to make sure the flowers remain in place.
