The Lazytarsia technique is incredibly rewarding — I thoroughly enjoyed completing each dot one by one.

Since I’m not a fan of triangular shawls, I opted for a rectangular scarf measuring 50 cm by 180 cm instead. For a clean finish, I added an i-cord all the way around. My original plan was to introduce some color into the i-cord, but I quickly gave that up … The thought of changing yarn every few centimeters over nearly five meters didn’t appeal to me — after all, “lazy” in “lazytarsia” has to count for something ;-)

It took me a while to figure out that floats should only be dealt with when a dot expands or contracts by two stitches, which happens with medium and large dots.

At all other transition points, tension needs to be kept tight to avoid loose stitches.
