Yarn

From stash; ball band lost. It’s fingering weight, so I’m knitting it doubled. It’s soft, but has some strength and luster, so I’d guess it’s an MCN?

Trapping Floats

Get yarn A into position early. On rows 4, 14, 36, and 44, bring yarn A to edge; from the right side, alternate putting right needle above and below the strand to tack it into place. Then it will be ready at the brim edge when you need it.

Similarly, on rows 10, 18, 40, and 48, carry yarn A behind, trapping the floats as you go so it will be in place for next use.

Selvage

In a tutorial for Patreon supporters, Woolly talked about making a selvage edge by purling the last stitch in a row, then slipping it (as the first stitch) in the next row. In this hat, I purled the last stitch with the color I’d be starting the next row with. That’s a pain. Next time, I’ll always start and end rows with color B.
