Attempt #1 - Coppertree
Used Henchman.
CO 12. Alt inc to 24 per side; 3rd rnd inc to 66 sts (68 is too big, but we’ll add them at beginning of arch section).
At 4.25 inches (50 rnds), increased 2 sts and work arch section. 41 rnds (20 slipped sts +1).
PGR heel, then immediately into flap. Heel is a bit long and loose, and front is still on the high side. I think traditional heel flap, rather than short row heel, will work better for this sock form.
FROGGED
Attempt #2 - Pandora
CO 11, alt inc to 23, 3rd rnd inc to 66.
45 rnds to arch section. Slip every 3rd stitch on alternate rounds. 18 slipped stitches in 2.5 inch arch section.
Used Mastermind heel. Very much do not like. (I know it’s mine, but I won’t knit it again.)
12 gusset increases, 10 short rows. Flap decreases outside base stitches to 63 for cuff.
Mark round for sewing at end. Knit 6 rounds.

Attempt #3 - Malevolent
My toe (CO 12, alt inc to 24, 3rd rnd inc to 34), but the rest is Spice Man.
66 rnds to gusset increases.
The ribbed+hemmed cuff looks nice, but the short row tab was very hard. First one used German short rows; not recommended.
For second sock, worked tab area stockinette, rest of hem in rib.

Attempt #4 - Iris
Toe 12 - 26 - 34.
51 rounds to arch section, slipping every 4th st on alternate rounds. 28 rows (14 slipped stitches) in arch.
At 6.5 inches, add 4 stitches over the next half inch before working Sweet Tomato Heel.

Attempt #5 - Endless Forms
Noticing my heels have been loose and I’ve still got some bunching in the front, I thought I’d go back to basics with plain PGR sock. Knit a bit looser without gussets, this should work nicely with the slipped stitch arch. I still prefer my fitted toe.
CO 14, alt increases to 26 per side, third row increases to 38 (76 st circumference). 50 rnds to arch section. 40 rnds arch, or until sock is 6.75 inches. Knit plain until 8 inches (or at ankle bone). Turn heel, then work 12 rounds to tab.

Attempt # 6 - More Endless
Sweet Tomato heel. 85% of circumference above ball is 68 sts. Hinge is about 7 inches.
Out of yarn… Hibernating.
Ripped first back to before heel, 89 rows, then add 4 sts before Sweet Tomato Heel.
Attempt #7 - Kiwi
PGR. C is 78. Arch section starts after 4” (58 rnds). Heel stitch to 6.75 inches (29 slipped rnds). Then 16 rnds to heel.

Attempt #8 - Leaf Pile
I was using this yarn in a different project. I ripped that sock-in-progress back and finished it off with the hemmed cuff. Henchman produces a foot that’s higher than I normally like in these socks, but I expect the Scylfing Sock will shrink a bit with wash and wear.
Finished: 2020-07-04
2021-05-19: Hole in left heel, right heel very thin.
Attempt #9 - Speedwell
12-24-34(68)
At 6.5 inches (83 rnds), add 4 stitches over the next half inch before working Sweet Tomato Heel.
Finished: 2020-07-12
Attempt #10 - New Recruit
PGR, with Leaf Pile accents.
14 - 26 - 38 (76).
41 rounds from last Leaf Pile round to heel.
After heel, 8 rnds, 2 rnd stripe, 9 rnds, purl.
Finished: 2020-07-19
#11 - Joanna Lumley
Size 0, CO 14. C=84.
85 rnds to gusset.
Henchman variant, with PGR heel and shortened upper gusset.

#12 - Re-Endless
#5 - Endless Forms was my first solid success and one of my favorite pairs, but I was careless with laundry and ruined them—Cywyn Sock really needs hand washing. Recreating them with the extra skein I got from Ygathgoch.
20 rounds heel to top.
