Plan is to provisionally cast on 290 sts. (208 key with 35% of key for upper sleeve, subtracting the 8% underarm stitches that will be added later.)

As I approach the point to set up for the shoulders, I’m wondering if I’d prefer to try the Seamless Set-In Sleeve Sweater instead? If so, see schrouderknits advice to work short rows before the last pair of rows with decreases.

The new Seamless Set-In Sleeve Sweater plan seemed to be working great, but went off the rails. The minimalist instructions don’t include any neck shaping, and without the saddles, the shoulders don’t have any depth. I was left with only a slit of an opening to pop my head through. Clues about how to fix this can be found at this discussion about how 1/3 of the back stitches are only part of 40% neck opening needed.

Todd Gocken already solved all my problems with this sweater with Drake. Going to chuck this aside and go make one of those.
