provisional cast-on, working with one and a half strands (that is, dble stranded but pulling one ply out as i go. wasteful and tedious but that was the weight yarn that i wanted)

21 aug - have increased to 65 sts. hadn’t thought that would be deep enough but am happy with it; ruffle will add more width.
7 sep - just knitting along. have almost finished decreases.
9 sep - am a few rows into the ruffle. need to think about whether/how i will stripe it. i think that i’ll have to as there isn’t enough yarn left. what to use? the grey? the other grey? the taupe? also changed to a 5mm needle bc the 4.5mm was too short. ok, decided out of exigency - use the grey, use it up bc jo sharp is for booties. also need to crochet along straight edge.
12 sep - some 620+ stitches on the ruffle and keep increasing 1 st every row. am striping with the grey.
14 sep - have cast off about a third of the stitches using stretchy bind-off, that’s 200 down, 400 odd to go …
15 sep - cast off done, hooray. ends and some blocking to go.
done, done, done - steam blocked it, wove in ends, crocheted along straight edge with single strand and 2.75mm hook, 2 dc into each of three slipped stitches, 3 dc into the next; rpt.
